魏柏任出生於新竹，畢業於國立臺北藝術大學美術學系碩士班創作組。擅長運用金屬與木頭等各種媒材，透過材料的變化，帶我們思考時間、生命與存在的奧秘！他的創作橫跨空間裝置、雕塑、素描、身體表演和影像，從不同尺度觀看世界，探索身體感知與物質狀態之間的微妙關係。
曾在嘉義市立美術館、鳳甲美術館、高雄市立美術館等地展出，還榮獲「2021高雄獎-首獎」、「2018世安美學獎」，作品為高美館典藏。

WEI’s recent practices focus on delineating the boundaries and landscapes of human psychological spaces while exploring the intricate connections between personal life experiences and material memory. Through perspectives of varying scales, the works present a multi-layered worldview, engaging with the interplay of psychological spaces, sensory perception, inner forces, and memory.

The creative forms encompass spatial installations, sculptures, drawings, performance art, and video. Using the language of diverse media, the works provoke reflections on memory and existence, constructing a resonant dialogue between emotion and materiality.

His works have been exhibited at New Taipei City Art Museum Park (2025), Chiayi Art Museum (2024), Hong-Gah Museum (2023), YIRI ARTS (2023, 2022, 2021), Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (2021), FreeS Art Space (2019), and VT Artsalon (2018). His work has been collected by Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts and has received recognition such as the "First Prize of Kaohsiung Awards 2021" and the "2018 S-An Art Award".
